The Lions Club of St Michael is saddened by the sudden passing of Charter Member, Past Zone Chair Lion Airlene Kirton MJF.
Lion Airlene Kirton joined the Lioness Club of Bridgetown on February 1st, 1982. The Lions Club of St Michael was chartered in June 1992.
For her dedication to service the club awarded her the highest honor the “Melvin Jones Fellowship” in the lionistic year 1994 to 1995.
From 1996 to 1997 Lion Airlene had the distinct honor to lead Zone 3A as our Zone Chairperson, which was done with one of her favorite phrases “love and commitment”.
Lion Airlene Kirton was not a selfish person, she shared her knowledge with everyone, those who asked and those whom she thought needed it.
She attended many Conventions, Conferences, Cabinet Meetings, Region and Zone Meetings whether there were in Barbados or across the Region where much valuable information was received, and many friends made.
When it came to protocol and the proper running of meetings, Lion Airlene was the club’s go-to person, she knew it all and knew it well. Lion Airlene was a friend to all from the youngest Leo to the oldest Lion.
May she Rest in Eternal Peae.
